Our Narrative
The Chinese Globalization Association (CGA), a non-for-profit organization headquartered in Florida, was formed exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes. Its mission is to assist, promote, and advance the research on the globalization of China, emphasizing multidisciplinary approaches, including fields of knowledge such as international business, management, marketing, economics, political science, education, history, sociology and other relevant disciplines.
The Association held its first annual conference in 2006 at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. China goes Global™ was financed in 2007 by a grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany to promote research on the globalization of China through a cross-Atlantic university collaboration. Between 2007 and 2012, the Association held its annual conferences at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since 2013, China goes Global™ went global and has held conferences in Europe, Asia and America.
The goals of the Association are
(1) to foster education and research on the globalization of China through conferences and publications
(2) to facilitate the flow and exchange of information and ideas among researchers, educators, managers and policy makers in China and abroad
(3) to encourage collaboration between academic, business and government institutions through projects, publications, and annual conferences
(4) to assist research activities, including cases, practical papers, research articles, policy briefs, and their dissemination
(5) to increase the membership of the Association, including academics, practitioners and regulators
The Chinese Globalization Association is the owner of the China goes Global™ annual conference and its proceedings.
